Admissions to the Doctoral School for the AY 2024/2025 | Gdańsk University of Technology

We would like to inform you that according to the admissions schedule* the standard admission for AY. 2024/2025 to the Doctoral School conducted jointly by the Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) and the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Hydro-Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences will start on 22 April 2024 (Monday) and will end on 13 May 2024, at 9:00 AM

PLEASE NOTE: the Doctoral School office will be closed from 01-03 May 2024.

The indicated date applies to both electronic enrolment and the need to provide a complete set of documents.

Enrolment will include 14 disciplines:

• Disciplines in the social sciences area: economics and finance [EiF], management and quality studies [ZiJ];
• Disciplines in the exact and natural science area: chemical sciences [NCh], physical sciences [NF], mathematics [M];
• Disciplines in the engineering and technology area: civil engineering, geodesy and transport [ILGiT], architecture and urban planning [AiU], environmental engineering, mining and energy [IŚGiE], materials engineering [IMa], mechanical engineering [IMe], automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies [AEEiTK], information and communication technology [ITiT], biomedical engineering [IB], chemical engineering [ICh]

without admissions to the Institute of Hydro-Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences (civil engineering, geodesy and transport) .

The list of application documents, the detailed recruitment schedule, as well as the number of place per discipline and the composition of the admission committees will be specified in the admission announcement.

Other important deadlines:

• Planned date for announcement of lists of potential supervisors - February/March 2024.

PLEASE NOTE: The candidate is responsible for finding a supervisor. Establishing a contact with an employee of Gdańsk Tech (PG)/institute whose name appears on the published list of supervisors in order to obtain from him/her consent to provide supervision of the candidate should be done well in advance. The potential supervisor is obliged to interview the candidate and ensure a place to conduct scientific research work, financial support necessary to cover the costs of materials and participation in scientific conferences and research equipment in case of conducting experimental work. 
The Doctoral School does not act as an intermediary in establishing this contact.

• Meeting with candidates for the Doctoral School - in the first half of April 2024.
• Deadline for the submission of the certificate of defending the thesis (applies to candidates without a Master's diploma) - end of September 2024.
• Deadline for delivering the diploma and signing the doctoral student's oath and submitting documents proving entitlement to a doctoral scholarship and related to compulsory social insurance - end of October 2024.
• Deadline for foreigners to arrive if they want to be guaranteed a place in the dormitory - end of October 2024.
• Deadline for arrival of foreigners without provision of dormitory accommodation - end of November 2024.

At the moment, we only have documents in the Polish version. The entry will be updated with documents in English as soon as we receive the translation.
