[4th-year PhD students] Doctoral scholarships for PhD students admitted for AY 2020/2021 | Gdańsk University of Technology

Due to the fact that the PhD students admitted to the Doctoral School in the admissions for AY 2020/2021, and are currently in their 4th year of training, started their training with a one-month delay, that is, from November 2020, the scheduled date for completion of their training at the Doctoral School (according to the PhD Training Programme -  4 years) is October 2024. From the date of acquiring doctoral student status at the School and starting their training, these doctoral students also acquired the right to the doctoral scholarship.

Given the exceptional circumstances, this means that doctoral students in the current fourth year, who will neither miss the deadline for the submission of their dissertation as indicated in the Individual Research Proposal nor be dismissed from the School in the meantime, if they submit their dissertation:

• by the end of June this year, the last doctoral scholarship during the PhD training period will be paid in June, and during the months of July-October they will continue to receive the doctoral scholarship after the end of the PhD training period, 
• by the end of July this year, the last doctoral scholarship during the PhD training period will be paid in July and during the months of August-October they will continue to receive the doctoral scholarship after the end of the PhD training period, 
• by the end of August this year, the last doctoral scholarship during the PhD training period will be paid in July and during the months of September - October they will continue to receive the doctoral scholarship after the end of the PhD training period, 
• by the end of September this year, the last doctoral scholarship during the PhD training period will be paid in September and in October they will be paid the doctoral scholarship after the end of the PhD training period. 

PhD students who will not submit their dissertation within the above-mentioned deadlines, due to receiving permission to extend submission of their dissertation within the extended deadline, will receive their last doctoral scholarship in October, during the PhD training period , under the condition that they maintain their doctoral student status at that time - they do not miss the deadline for the submission of their dissertation as indicated in the Individual Research Proposal, or get dismissed from the Doctoral School in the meantime.

Please note that the doctoral scholarship can be paid for a maximum of four years and up to six months after the submission of the dissertation, unless the doctoral degree has been awarded within this time limit.
