Programme description:

The proposed training program enables the PhD students to specialize and extend their knowledge in various aspects of biomedical engineering, namely: computer sciences, electronics, imaging techniques, biophotonics, physics, biomechanics and chemistry. The education takes place at several faculties of Gdańsk University of Technology: Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Electronics Telecommunications and Informatics, Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering and also Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. Moreover, some of the lectures are given by visiting professors from related research fields. 
This multidisciplinary training programme poses the possibility to develop the individual interests of a PhD student and maximum use of the research infrastructure (modern and well-equipped laboratories) of GUT as well as the intellectual potential of teaching and research staff.

The graduates will gain extensive knowledge and skills in the field of broadly understood biomedical engineering. They will have qualifications enabling them to work in scientific units or industrial plants dealing with the design, construction and use of modern medical devices, new diagnostic techniques or obtaining new biomaterials and chemicals with a wide range of biological activity, including therapeutic agents.
