The Early Career Researcher Day

The first Early Career Researcher Day at Gdańsk Tech was dynamic, substantive and was received very positively by early stage and experienced researchers, students and administration employees of our University.

Dawid Myśliwiec, PhD, a Polish internet creator, founder of two popular science YouTube channels - "Uwaga! Naukowy Bełkot" and "Wyłącznie Naukowy Bełkot", guided the audience through the secrets of good communication with recipients outside the walls of scientific institutions, as well as the popularization of scientific knowledge among them.

Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech, answered over 20 very diverse and sometimes difficult, asked by participants during registration and those directly taking part in the event. There were questions about the scientific position of our University, the use of ChatGPT, support for PhD supervisors, providing laboratory space for joint work of early career researchers, preparing a social fund for PhD students, but also about the greenery in front of the Main Building. The Rector expressed his willingness to repeat the Q&A meetings.

Early career researchers also had the opportunity to establish scientific cooperation during scientific speed dating.

A big attraction of the event was the participation of chemists from the TECH-POL Polymer Technology Scientific Club, who served a dose of knowledge along with delicious ice cream prepared using liquid nitrogen.

About Young Scientist Day

The Early Career Researcher Day was an undertaking that responded to the needs expressed by employees and doctoral students regarding the creation of a place for integration, exchange of information and good practices. The event was planned in the HRS4R 2022-2025, implemented with funds from IDUB and initiated a series of annual activities for early career researchers. Next year we will meet at the Early Career Researcher Picnic. We invite you today!

We would like to thank the speakers for highlighting the event, and the participants for their involvement, questions to the Rector and other suggestions that will allow us to better adapt the event to the needs of the audience.

We invite you to watch a photo gallery.
