Report - students about Erasmus+ program

students
Erasmus Student Network (ESN) has published the next edition of its annual report, this time under the title "Understanding the experiences and needs of exchange students in challenging times". What motivates students to go abroad for studies and internships? How do they evaluate the support for exchange students offered by foreign universities and institutions? The answers to these and many other questions can be found in the report. We encourage you to read.

ESNsurvey is a Europe-wide research project addressing various topics related to mobility and education, such as economic, culture, languages, accessibility of mobility for people with special needs and many others. It is worth emphasizing that it is also the largest project of this type carried out solely by volunteers.

Every year since the project's inception in 2005, the ESNsurvey team develops and disseminates an online survey to students at European universities to collect information about students' exchange experiences abroad. Many associations, students, academics, scientists and various European institutions cooperate with ESN in the implementation of the study.

It's better than in 2020

This year's, 14th edition of the report (for 2021) was entitled: "Understanding the experiences and needs of exchange students in challenging times" and was based on 10,000 student responses, who benefited from the Erasmus+ programme.

The 2021 report shows that overall satisfaction with student mobility has improved significantly since the start of the last Erasmus+ program and that mobility - no surprise here - has a remarkable impact on students, increasing their interest in sustainable development and making them more internationally minded .

However, financial support, recognition of studies programms and lack of interaction with local communities remain a challenge. In addition, students going on internships abroad declare a lower level of satisfaction with their mobility than students who went to another country to study.
