CESAER Student Challenge - apply by July 31

CESAER Student Challenge
Do you have a brilliant idea for how science and technology can support our society’s efforts toward sustainability? If yes, sign up for CESAER Student Challenge and win a cash prize of up to €20,000! The deadline for submission is 31 July 2023.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR COMPETITION PARTICIPANTS: On July 3-6, there will be online meetings with experts with whom teams will be able to discuss their competition ideas. To participate in such a meeting, teams must register via the online form by June 26 at the latest.

CESAER Student Challenge is a cyclical competition for students and PhD students organized by CESAER - a European organization associated of leading technical universities (Gdańsk Tech is a CESAER member since 2015).

The theme of this year’s challenge is the Contribution of Universities of Science and Technology to Sustainability. The students' projects will be evaluated along three dimensions:

  • Novelty
  • Scientific and Technological Excellence
  • Sustainability and Impact

This challenge gives student-led teams the chance to design and showcase their ideas on how science and technology contribute to sustainability.

The submission will consist of an abstract and a short video with a deadline for submission on 31 July 2023. To submit, teams must have the endorsement of CESAER’s Institutional Liaison within their university (at Gdańsk Tech it is Anna Modrzejewska, Head of International Relations Office). The three best videos will be shown at our CESAER Annual Meetings (CAM) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in October 2023, and the leaders of the respective teams will be our invited guests to join the CAM with travel and accommodation at our expense. The winning team will win a cash prize of up to €20,000.
