1. How long does it take for an application to be reviewed?

The formal verification of an application by the International Relations Office takes up to 5 working days. The Board of the relevant Priority Research Area Centre expresses its opinion within 20 working days after the receipt of the application. The final decision on granting or refusing to grant funding for the internship is made by the Rector. In case the Rector decides that the application needs to be corrected, the Applicant is obliged to submit a corrected application within 5 working days.
 

2. What is the status of the employee who is on a trip under the IDUB program?

Trips under the IDUB program are business trips, which means that employees are not on leave (§ 56(4) of the Remuneration Rules of Gdańsk University of Technology; Decree of the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology PG NR 47/2020 of 20 July 2020).
 

3. Does the applicant need to submit the application for a trip in Moja PG?

Yes, when the Rector accepts the application and signs the document entitled ‘Project accepted for execution’, the applicant submits the ‘Application for a trip under a concluded agreement’ in Moja PG.
 

4. Which document is the basis for transferring funds?

Funding is awarded on the basis of the document entitled ‘Project accepted for execution’, which needs to be signed by the Rector, the Dean of a given faculty and the applicant. The original is then submitted to the International Relations Office and a copy is submitted to the financial unit at a given faculty.
 

5. How are the funds transferred to the Applicant?

Funding is transferred to the Applicant’s faculty by way of increasing its subsidy.
 

6. Does the beneficiary of the program receive remuneration during the trip?

Yes, the employee is entitled to remuneration under the normal rules. The hours of classes in the employee’s teaching load which fall on the period of his/her absence due to the trip are credited as hours worked as scheduled and the absence is excused. These hours are included in the teaching load, but may not be treated as overtime (§2(13) of Schedule 1 to the Work Rules of Gdańsk University of Technology).
 

7. Is it possible to use other additional sources of funding for EUROPIUM trips?

Double funding for internships is not allowed.
 

8. Who take care of formalities related to the trip?

The applicant and persons responsible for business trips at a given faculty take care of formalities related to the trip.
