Americium IDUB

Americium International Career Development is a programme which fulfils the tasks of IDUB (the Polish acronym for The Excellence Initiative – Research University) when it comes to increasing the quality of research activities at the university as part of Action II.1. (Activities for the development of cooperation with scientific institutions of high international reputation). The aim of the Programme is to increase the research competencies of the employees of Gdańsk University of Technology, especially young researchers, by offering short- and long-term internships at international research centres. The trip should result in establishing research cooperation between with the research team of the departing employee.


Who can benefit from the programme?

According to the Terms and Conditions of AMERICIUM, applications to the programme may be submitted by Gdańsk Tech research staff or teaching and research staff who are doctors or doctors with habilitation degree and for whom the university is the principal place of work. The trip needs to overlap with the employment period.


Recruitment period

Applications are accepted continuously. 


Trip funding conditions

The applicant receives a lump sum to cover the costs of the internship in:
a) OECD countries
- PLN 12,000 per month of stay in an OECD country
- PLN 2,000 per month for the intern’s spouse, if he/she does not work at the place of the internship
- PLN 1,000 per month for each child accompanying the intern
- PLN 7,000 as a one-time mobility allowance

b) non-OECD countries
- PLN 8,000 per month of stay in a non-OECD country
- PLN 2,000 per month for the intern’s spouse, if he/she does not work at the place of the internship
- PLN 1,000 per month for each child accompanying the intern
- PLN 7,000 as a one-time mobility allowance


For what period of time can you go?

As part of the Programme, it is possible to cover the costs of long-term internships (from 4 to 12 months) for Gdańsk Tech researchers in foreign research centres of high international reputation.
