The main goal of the ‘Bridge of Knowledge’ project is to increase the digital availability, quality and usability of science, knowledge and technology resources of Gdańsk University of Technology and its cooperating units. This goal will be achieved due to the implementation of a number of specific objectives at the level of the University itself and in its relations with the environment, i.e. the main groups of recipients: business, the scientific community and other external recipients who have expressed a desire to use the University's scientific resources.
However, the direct goal of the Project, taking into account the identified needs of stakeholders, will be the creation of an integrated system platform enabling the collection of resources of science, knowledge and technology of Gdańsk University of Technology and its cooperating units, as well as ensuring their appropriate quality and presentation, and also their sharing through the ‘Multidisciplinary Open Knowledge Transfer System - Bridge of Knowledge’.
To sum up, the goal of the Project is not only to provide friendly access to selected scientific knowledge for the needs of a particular user, but also to gradually recognize business needs and the possibilities of commercializing research by formulating them in a way that is readable for both parties, transferring traditional forms of science - business cooperation into the digital world and the development of standards related to the appropriate API or digital description of the world of science and business.
As a result, the implementation of the Project will contribute to the achievement of the primary goal of increasing the degree of re-use of PSI (public sector information), which will affect the development of science, increase innovation and entrepreneurship of the region and the country.
