The nature of the ‘Bridge of Knowledge’ project is to design and build a platform that integrates data from many databases (both Gdańsk University of Technology and other research units), which will increase the availability, consistency and the possibility of reusing their research, knowledge and technology resources.
These resources will be made available to business, the scientific community and the society in an open, simple and transparent form. As a result, a bridge will be created connecting the scientific community and their economic environment (enterprises, non-profit organizations, citizens).
This solution will quickly and easily provide knowledge to interested recipients using the extensive structure of the system's services. In addition to searching and browsing information, the system will have built-in intelligence and mechanisms for understanding the search context, which makes this project unique in the country. Due to this, ‘Bridge of Knowledge’ will become an intelligent advisor which will automatically learn based on search history, will be able to suggest content to the user, as well as recognize user groups and match the results to them.
‘Bridge of Knowledge’ is a modern platform offering numerous services from many areas, embedded in the private cloud of Gdańsk University of Technology, integrating numerous databases and issuing universal APIs. Of course, all this is to facilitate the access to knowledge for the society and establish relations between researchers and business. The effect of strengthening this cooperation will be innovative and commercial projects that will simultaneously generate further knowledge resources that can be shared within the ‘Bridge of Knowledge’.
‘Bridge of Knowledge’ is not only sharing knowledge, but also an integrated platform for connecting science people and their work with business people and their needs.
