„Falling Walls Lab” – a prestigious competition for scientists
Join an international network of over a thousand researchers, PhD students, and innovators from 75 countries. You have three minutes to present your idea for breaking down existing barriers – in science, the technology industry, or society. If you convince the jury with your idea, you will participate in the competition final, which will take place in Berlin. Applications are open only until June 30.

"Falling Walls" is currently one of the largest networks in the world connecting members of the academic community, aiming to break existing barriers.
The winner of “Falling Walls” in Warsaw will travel to Berlin to compete for the title of “Breakthrough Winner of the Year” in the “Emerging Talents” category, participate in the conference (November 7-9, 2022), as well as in workshops and meetings organized for winners from all participating countries.
Apply by June 30 and take part in workshops
Register by June 30, 2022, and you will receive an invitation for an individual consultation on building a professional image.
You can also apply later – until August 15, 2022. However, consultations are reserved for those who register by June 30.
Selection criteria
Representatives from all fields can apply: natural sciences, technical sciences, engineering, mathematics, medical and health sciences, agricultural sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. Completing the online form takes only 10 minutes.
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- hold a PhD degree obtained no earlier than 5 years ago (i.e., after 01/01/2017),
- hold a master’s degree obtained no earlier than 7 years ago (i.e., after 01/01/2015),
- hold a bachelor’s degree obtained no earlier than 10 years ago (i.e., after 01/01/2012),
- hold student status or be undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship.
The final will take place on September 15 at Warsaw University of Technology
A maximum of 20 people will be qualified for the “Falling Walls Lab” final, who will then present their ideas in a 3-minute presentation in English before an international jury on September 15, 2022.
