On April 9, 2024, we officially opened a new office and creative space called the iGTS2 Zone, dedicated to the startup teams of GTS2 as well as Gdańsk Tech students and PhD candidates developing projects with an innovative nature and business potential.
The iGTS2 zone is located in the Student Dormitory No. 3 at 32 Do Studzienki Street and has an independent entrance on the side of the building. It includes several office workstations for individual work and 3 rooms adapted for intimate workshop and business meetings, with network access and facilities for organizing multimedia and business meetings.
- Today's opening of the iGTS2 incubator space marks the next stage in the development of the ecosystem, as well as tools for creating innovation and fostering entrepreneurship at Gdańsk Tech. Alongside the prototyping space Protolab, made available to students and PhD candidates, a complementary office zone for work and meetings has been created, intended for the development of original ideas and business projects – comments Damian Kuźniewski, Director of the Technology Transfer Center.
- In addition to the space, within the Gdańsk Tech Startup School project we provide our beneficiaries with training, mentoring and expert support, as well as grants to launch businesses. To create an effective ecosystem, we must collectively stimulate the potential of student teams, group projects, student research projects, and projects carried out by Science Clubs and student organizations. Therefore, we invite cooperation, as well as the promotion of the iGTS2 zone and activities conducted by Gdańsk Tech Startup School – he adds.
During the opening, Robert Bajko, project manager of Gdańsk Tech Startup School, briefly summarized the activities of GTS2 so far and emphasized how important the focus on synchronous development of entrepreneurship and innovation is for our academic community, taking inspiration from renowned foreign universities and considering guidelines from institutions such as the European Union and the United Nations.
