From May 26 to 29, 2026, a delegation from Gdańsk Tech participated in the 2nd edition of the European Science Fair, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, together with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the MTP Group — as part of the ITM INDUSTRY EUROPE fair.

Gdańsk Tech was represented at the event by a team consisting of: Marcin Stolarek Chief Specialist for Technology Commercialization at PG Biznes Hub, together with a delegation of academic staff from the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics – PhD hab. Marta Prześniak-Welenc and Prof. Sebastian Wachowski, who also serves as the faculty Innovation Broker at Gdańsk Tech. During the fair, the delegation from Gdańsk Tech actively showcased the research and implementation potential of our university and established relationships with partners from the scientific and industrial sectors.

During the European Science Fair:

  • we promoted the R&D collaboration offer of Gdańsk Tech for enterprises,
  • we engaged in discussions with representatives of universities and institutes about possibilities for joint research projects, including with Poznań University of Technology, Lublin University of Technology, University of Life Sciences in Lublin, and Maritime University of Szczecin,
  • we conducted meetings with companies regarding the commercialization of research results, technology implementation, and commissioned research,
  • we exchanged experiences regarding the organization of science-business cooperation and technology transfer.

The event took place as part of ITM Industry Europe — one of the most important industrial fairs in this part of Europe, gathering over 700 exhibitors and about 15,000 industry participants. The scale of the event enables direct contact with industry and verification of the implementation potential of scientific solutions.

Particularly valuable were the discussions concerning: aligning the university’s offer with the real needs of industry, barriers and best practices in commercialization, the role of innovation brokers in initiating scientific-industrial cooperation, and opportunities for combining the potential of universities during the implementation of larger R&D projects.

This year’s European Science Fair once again demonstrated the crucial role such events play — they create a space where science and industry meet, laying the foundation for the realization of concrete projects and implementations.

Participation in the fair was also an opportunity to promote the activities carried out within the Science4Business project – Science for Business.
