The team of the Student Science Club of Naval Architecture KORAB returns from the competition with great success. The team won first place in the overall classification of the prestigious international student competition International Waterbike Regatta for the second consecutive time, defeating teams from all over Europe.

The International Waterbike Regatta 2026 took place in Rostock, Germany.

– The victory was secured by our waterbike "Rektor". During the three-day competition, which included speed tests, maneuverability, and towing capacity, the design proved unbeatable – emphasized the students.

The unit took first place in the overall competition classification, dominating in most of the contested disciplines:

  • 1st place in the long-distance race (Long Distance – 10 km distance),
  • 1st place in the FSB maneuvering competition (Forward-Stop-Backward),
  • 1st place in the acceleration test (Acceleration),
  • 2nd place in the parallel race on the obstacle course (Slalom)

Besides "Rektor" – "CBG" and "Dżordż"

At the competition, besides "Rektor", the waterbikes "CBG" and "Dżordż" also participated.

"CBG" finished in the top ten of the competition (10th place in the overall classification), which represents a significant step forward compared to last year’s results. This is the result of year-round work that included significant reduction of the hull weight and implementation of a new steering system.

"Dżordż", on the other hand, placed 25th. – This year, we tested new steering systems. Although they caused considerable technical problems that ultimately prevented completion of the FSB and Long Distance events, we managed the situation efficiently. We are drawing conclusions and getting down to further work – the students added.
