Future Frombork Festival is an event that combines the world of science, new technologies, culture, and debate about the future. On July 17–18 in Frombork, the university will be represented by representatives of the Faculty of Chemistry, and in the cosmic match, representatives from the entire university will play.
At the Gdańsk Tech festival booth, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the university's educational offerings, study possibilities, and cooperation with secondary schools. It will also be a chance to explore Gdańsk Tech's research potential and talk about the challenges of modern science, new technologies, and directions for research development. Representatives of the Faculty of Chemistry will answer questions from prospective students, teachers, pupils, and everyone interested in the university’s activities.
The idea of the Future Frombork Festival is to boldly look into the future through the prism of Nicolaus Copernicus’ heritage. Just as the astronomer revolutionized knowledge based on rigorous observations and the willingness to challenge false paradigms, today’s challenges defining security and development in the coming decades must be faced in a similar spirit.
This year’s expert discussions at FFF will focus on two strategic panels:
- The State Offline: An audience-participation panel based on a communication blackout scenario. Invited experts from administration and academia will assume the roles of decision-makers, analyzing how modern state structures would cope with crisis management and maintaining continuity of processes without digital infrastructure.
- Science vs. Disinformation – Cosmic Conspiracy Theories: The second pillar of the festival is the defence of reliable science against contemporary myths. The panel will be devoted to a deep sociological and scientific analysis of disinformation surrounding space exploration. The discussion will primarily serve to diagnose the broader problem of knowledge communication in the era of digital fake news.
Innovation, Fashion, and Music
The Future Frombork Festival is a unique ecosystem where advanced science meets culture. Beyond the main debates, Friday’s (17.07) program includes a literary discussion where Mariusz Cieślik will talk with Marcin Cielecki, author of the book “Dziedziniec pogan” (“The Courtyard of the Pagans”).
Saturday (18.07) will broaden the festival’s perspective to include topics of sustainable development and sport. Participants will be invited to the opening of the exhibition and a meeting titled “Circular Fashion. Fashion of the Future” with designer Sandra Skórka.
One of the key program highlights will be the “Cosmic Match,” in which the Polish Scientists’ Team and their guests will face the Mazur Radzymin team on the field, featuring among others the popular artist Quebonafide.
The festival evenings will traditionally be complemented by carefully selected music. Performers in the spaces of Frombork will include Olga Anna Markowska, Tomasz Bednarczyk, and the band Etnobotanika. The event will conclude with a concert by the outstanding British artist Alabaster DePlume, who will be guest accompanied by Wojciech Mazolewski.
Participation in the discussion panels and concerts is free of charge. Due to high demand, prior registration is required on the event website: www.futurefestival.pl.
