Fire Safety Instructions - General instructions for buildings

INSTRUCTION PROCEEDINGS IN CASE OF FIRE

I. WARNING

1. In the event of a fire, keep calm, do not panic and immediately alert others shouting ‘FIRE! FIRE!’

2. When alarming the FIRE BRIGADE, you should give the following information: - where and what is burning - address, name of the building, floor, - whether human life is endangered, - your name and phone number from which you are calling.

NOTE: DISCONNECT ONLY AFTER RECEIVING CONFIRMATION THAT YOUR CALL HAS BEEN RECEIVED, WAIT BY THE PHONE FOR A VERIFICATION CALL.

3. The following must also be notified about the fire:

PROPERTY PROTECTION DEPARTMENT, phone no. 14-32 or 99

BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR phone no.

If necessary, alert EMERGENCY phone no. 999 or 112

II. BEHAVIOUR IN CASE OF FIRE

Basic rules of conduct in case of fire and evacuation:

1. if possible, activate the nearest RCP button (red call point), which activates the fire alarm system;

2. notify the State Fire Service and the Property Protection Department about the fire;

3. immediately notify all persons staying in the object about the danger and the need to evacuate;

4. disconnect electrical power by pressing the fire protection switch,

5. if possible, start extinguishing the fire with hand-held fire-fighting equipment;

6. without clear necessity do not open doors and windows to rooms covered by fire, because the inflow of air can accelerate the spread of fire;

7. start evacuation operations, remembering that first of all persons in the danger zone should be evacuated;

8. evacuate using staircases, strictly avoiding elevators;

9. evacuation should be fast, avoid overtaking and moving in directions opposite to those indicated by the evacuation signs;

10. in case of a significant amount of smoke along the escape route, move in an inclined position as close as possible to the floor;

11. first, save lives of people, and then property if fire conditions allow;

12. after leaving the building, go to the designated collection point for evacuation and do not leave the place until such decision is made by the person managing the action;

13. until the fire brigade arrives, the rescue and firefighting action is managed by the person indicated

in the Fire Safety Manual or in the General Instructions;

14. after the arrival of the abovementioned units, all employees are required to cooperate

with the person managing the rescue operation.

Attention:

• it is not allowed to extinguish live electrical installations and devices under voltage using water,

• in the event of a suspicion that someone has remained in an endangered building, immediately inform the head of the rescue operation.
