In the ARWU 2021 ranking (year of publication: 2021), Gdańsk University of Technology was included in the global ranking for the second time, in the position 801-900 (there were 2 more Polish universities ranked in this position), among 10 universities from Poland classified in the ranking. Gdańsk Tech again obtained the highest score (13.1 points) for the PCP index (i.e. for the weighted score of the remaining five indicators divided by the number of full-time equivalent academic staff). Despite the fact that our position in the general classification remained unchanged, Gdańsk University of Technology recorded an increase in points in 3 ranking indicators: HiCi, PUB and PCP.
In this year's edition of the ranking (ARWU 2021) 4 Polish universities, including Gdańsk University of Technology, scored points in the HiCi (Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate Analytics) index. In the list prepared by Clarivate Analytics in 2020, showing the most cited scientists from around the world, again was included the late prof. Jacek Namieśnik, rector of Gdańsk Tech in the years 2016-2019.
