Almost 2 million awarded for the implementation of projects in the second edition of AURUM

AURUM
The awarded funds will enable the project managers to form new international research teams that will enrich the scientific potential of Gdańsk Tech, purchase research equipment, rent rooms and laboratories and organize meetings and trips. In the 2nd edition of the competition 18 applications were submitted out of which 4 were qualified for funding.
Projects qualified for financing:
 

submitted within the Center for Advanced Materials:
1. Novel oxide/polymer bilayers as a promising approach for controllable degradation of a biocompatible magnesium alloys.
         Project leader: Jacek Ryl, Ph.D., FAPM, allocated funds PLN 455,384

submitted within the BioTechMed Center:
 2.  Laser CT Scanning of Polymer Gel Dosimeters for High-Definition 3D Quality Assurance in Advanced Proton Therapy of Cancer: Arc-PT and FLASH.
         Project leader: Marek Maryański, PhD, FAPM, allocated funds: PLN 499,999

submitted within the EcoTech Center:
3. Capillary electrophoresis as a green technique for identification of polychlorinated naphthalene compounds in environmental samples from water bodies.
         Project manager:  Justyna Płotka-Wasylka PhD FC, allocated funds: PLN 497,840

4. design-for-safety - development of a rational ship design method to increase safety of navigation with particular emphasis on stability and manoeuvrability.
Project Manager: Jakub Montewka PhD FMEST,  allocated funds: PLN 498 800
