Qualification criteria for full-time and part-time first-cycle studies
For candidates holding school leaving certificate issued in one of countries: EU, EFTA, EEA, OECD members (pdf, 13.26kB), Ukraine, China or holding International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate or Polish Matura exam:
W = mathematics × p + subject additional × p + points for qualifications
International candidates will have their state examination grades, entitling them to undertake studies in the country of issue, recalculated into points. If mathematics, an additional subject, or a foreign language were not taken in the state examination, the grades from the secondary school graduation certificate (excluding computer science) are recalculated. The method of recalculating the grades into points in a given country is established by the admission committee for international students.
The formula for calculating the candidate’s number of points should apply the following substitutions:
Mathematics |
The number of points corresponding to the recalculated grade in mathematics exam |
Subject additional |
The number of points corresponding to the recalculated grade in additional subject |
p = 1.0 |
For a state examination with a specified result in mathematics and an additional subject |
p = 0.8 |
For a state examination without a specified result in mathematics and an additional subject |
p = 0.6 |
For intramural examination and other than state examination |
p = 0.3 | For grades from the secondary school graduation certificate |
Points for qualifications |
Points for having diplomas issued in the Polish system of education listed in Appendix No.5 (pdf, 1,017.59kB) |
For candidates holding school leaving certificate from other countries – Mathematics entrance examination is MANDATORY:
W = mathematics (entrance exam) × 1 + subject additional × p
The points obtained in the mathematics entrance examination will be recognized in the scoring formula for candidates without conversion. If the additional subject was not taken as part of the national examination, the grades from the final year school certificate (excluding the subject of computer science) will be calculated according to the table below:
Mathematics |
The number of points obtained in the mathematics entrance examination |
Subject additional |
The number of points corresponding to the recalculated grade in additional subject |
p = 1.0 |
For a state examination with a specified result in mathematics and an additional subject |
