The first family room at Gdańsk University of Technology is in operation.
Developing initiatives to make it easier for working or studying parents to combine their scientific duties with family duties Gdańsk University of Technology has created a space that is friendly to parents and children. In the family room, you can not only change or feed a baby, but also play with an older toddler or just relax.
The room is located on the second floor in building no. 61 - Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering at Sobieskiego 7 Street in Gdańsk. Access to the room is provided by a driveway to the building and an elevator. There are also toilets in close proximity to the family room.
Due to its design, the room was named "forest room". The room itself has an area of 15 m2 and is comfortably and cozily furnished. The space has been divided into zones: for feeding, playing and resting. The room has a changing table, a microwave, a comfortable armchair, a sofa, a children's table with chairs and toys, and a mattress.
We invite whole families. The room is a public social space. This is not a room for rent or guest accommodation.
The family room is open during the opening hours of the building.
The room was donated for the purpose of creating a family room by the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering, by the Dean’s decision, and the renovation and adaptation were carried out entirely by employees of Gdańsk University of Technology.
