Before registering in the application (admissions / recruitment) system (eRecruitment), the applicant is responsible for finding a supervisor in the discipline in which he or she intends to pursue a doctorate. In order to proceed to the next stage, it is necessary to obtain the prospective supervisor's declaration of consent to undertake scientific supervision of the prospective PhD student.
NOTE: Initiating contact with a Gdańsk Tech / institute employee whose name is on the published list of supervisors (in order to obtain consent from them to provide supervisor mentorship) should be done well in advance.
The Doctoral School does not mediate in establishing this contact.
Candidate for a Doctoral School is obliged to:
- select a prospective supervisor from the list of supervisors in a given discipline and unit, announced at the beginning of the admissions process, in the admissions announcement,
- have an initial conversation with a prospective supervisor on the research topics planned for the doctoral dissertation,
- obtain the consent of the prospective supervisor to undertake the PhD supervision of a candidate in a given discipline,
- obtain confirmation from a prospective supervisor about the possibility of providing a place to conduct research, financial resources necessary to cover the costs of materials and participation in scientific conferences, and access to the required research equipment, if necessary to conduct experimental work.
NOTE: Prospective supervisor's declaration of consent is different for special admission and has been included in section. II.5 of this tab.
One academic teacher can sign up to 3 declarations in total, including up to 2 declarations for foreigners - within the enrollment for the 2024/2025 academic year. The maximum number of candidates who can be accepted under the supervision of the future supervisor is indicated in the table with the list of academic teachers eligible to perform this function.
