History and Museum Collections Section was established in the mid-1980s as the Gdańsk Tech History Laboratory. The main goal of its activity is acquiring, collecting, securing and developing all material traces of the establishment and activity of Gdańsk University of Technology from 1904 to the present day, as the oldest and key scientific center of Northern Poland.

Tasks:
- acquiring, collecting, cataloguing, preserving, and making available artifacts and documents related to the history of Gdańsk University of Technology and the Pomeranian region
- formal and subject description of collections, including the personal archives of outstanding academic staff of Gdańsk University of Technology
- preparing and organizing exhibitions
- cataloguing the collections in the MUZEO
- creating digital collections
- participation in conferences and academic sessions
- conducting research activities
- carrying out educational and outreach activities
- promoting the academic heritage of Gdańsk University of Technology
- keeping a register of movable heritage objects of Gdańsk University of Technology
- collaborating with cultural institutions (museums, libraries, research centers) and academic institutions

Tasks:
- Preparing audiovisual documentation about the history of Gdańsk University of Technology. This includes planning and conducting interviews with people important to the university’s history: choosing interviewees, preparing interview questions, conducting interviews, and taking part in editing the recordings (content supervision).
- Collecting documents and objects related to the history of Gdańsk University of Technology.
- Taking part in external research (queries) about the university’s history.
- Representing the Director of the Gdańsk Tech Library at meetings related to the university’s history.
- Proposing new ideas to promote the history of Gdańsk University of Technology.
- Taking part in meetings to organize historical events such as lectures, conferences, exhibitions, and other activities on this topic.
- Working with the Gdańsk Tech Alumni Association on activities that promote the history of the university and taking part in meetings of the Alumni Association’s Historical Committee.
