According to the applicable regulations, a scientific article is a peer-reviewed article published in a scientific journal or in the peer-reviewed materials of an international scientific conference that presents a specific scientific issue in an original and creative, problematic or cross-sectional way, and is accompanied by footnotes, bibliography or other information appropriate for the given scientific discipline. A scientific article is also a review article published in a scientific journal included in the list of journals.

The list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences was prepared based on the following sources:

  • scientific journals included in the Scopus database,
  • scientific journals included in the Web of Science database,
  • peer-reviewed materials from international conferences that were rated at least C in the database of computer science conferences by The Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia (CORE),
  • Polish and foreign scientific journals included in the international European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH+) database, which were recommended by the expert team,
  • scientific journals that are the subject of projects financed under the "Support for scientific journals" program.

At least one scientific discipline has been assigned to each journal, and it is assumed that every scientist should publish in journals with the same discipline as their declared one. However, it is possible to include an article in a journal from outside the discipline if its subject matter is substantively related to scientific research or development work conducted within the discipline being evaluated.

The fastest way to check the scores of journals and the disciplines assigned to them is to search for the title on the MOST Wiedzy platform.

Punctation:
  • in the list, all journals are assigned one of the point values regardless of the scientific discipline: 200, 140, 100, 70, 40 and 20 points (Pc value),
  • journals not included in the list are assigned 5 points,
  • in the case of multi-author publications, the conversion point value of the multi-author publication should be calculated – P.

70 j√k/m, but not less than 10% of the points awarded for authorship

A scientific article in a scientific journal or conference materials not listed in the list of journals 5
  • the point value of a review article published in journals from the list of journals announced by the Minister is 50% of the points listed in the above tables.

k - number of authors of a scientific article who authorized the university to publish this article in a given discipline.

m - number of all co-authors - both those who are employees of the university undergoing evaluation and those from other units.

To calculate how many points a multi-authored publication will bring to the author:

  1. Calculate the P value according to the table above.
  2. Calculate the unit share, i.e. the fraction indicating what part of the author's slot the publication will fill U=P/Pc*1/k.
  3. Finally, calculate how many points this part of the filled slot Pu= P/k will bring.
Years 2017-2018
  • The number of points awarded for a scientific article published in 2017-2018: points are awarded in accordance with the list of 25 January 2017.
  • Point value of a scientific article published in its final form in 2017 and 2018 in a scientific journal not included in the 2017 list, but included in these years in the following databases: Scopus, Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index , Emerging Sources Citation Index, is 15 points.
  • The total point value of a scientific article published in 2017 and 2018 in the reviewed materials of an international scientific conference is determined in accordance with the latest list of journals prepared in the evaluation period.
  • Point value of a scientific article published in its final form in 2017 and 2018 in a scientific journal not included in the 2017 list and not included in these years in the following databases: Scopus (or included but inactive), Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index , Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Emerging Sources Citation Index is 1 point.
