About the workshops

Since mid-September 2022, a project entitled "Hey, are you OK?", co-financed by the "Welcome to Poland" program of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange is conducted at Gdańsk Tech. Its main goal is to support the broadly understood emotional well-being of employees and students. One of the activities within the project are workshops on cultural differences and culture shock for teaching and support staff, which are to improve communication with foreigners. The meetings will be conducted by Anna Modrzejewska - Head of the International Relations Office.

In the previous edition of the "Welcome to Poland" program, 60 employees from Gdańsk Tech administration participated in similar workshops on cultural differences and culture shock. Over 90% of them rated the classes as "very good", and 100% would recommend participation in them to other employees. All the more we encourage you to participate in the upcoming March workshops.

Who can take part in the workshops?

The workshops are aimed at Polish-speaking teaching staff who conduct classes with foreign students and PhD students (English-speaking and Polish-speaking) as well as at Polish-speaking support staff who deal with international students and PhD students on a daily basis. 

​​​​​The workshop was originally scheduled for November 2022, but it had to be postponed to 2023. Employees who signed up for classes last year and are still interested in participating in the meetings do not have to sign up for the second time (they will receive an e-mail from the International Relations Office in that matter).

When will the workshops take place?

When signing up for classes, the employee chooses one of four groups. Dates of classes for individual groups:
group I: March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (4 classes of 4 hours each)
group II: March 7, 14, 21 and 28, 9:00-13:00 (4 classes of 4 hours each)
group III: March 9, 16, 23 and 30, 9:00-13:00 (4 classes of 4 hours each)
group IV: March 10, 17, 24 and 31, 9:00-13:00 (4 classes of 4 hours each)
