Project Title: Collaboration with Ukrainian Universities within the ENHANCE Alliance
Gdańsk University of Technology, as a member of the ENHANCE Alliance of technical universities, has been granted funding by the (Polish) National Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA) to strengthen collaboration with universities in Ukraine. In the case of Gdańsk Tech, the project focuses on cooperation with National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Lviv Polytechnic National University - both of which are partner institutions within the ENHANCE Alliance.
The funded project at Gdańsk Tech aims to enhance academic cooperation with Ukrainian universities, complementing existing initiatives within the ENHANCE Alliance. The project is designed to prepare students, doctoral candidates, young researchers, asupport staff, and academic teachers from partner universities in Ukraine for the challenges of the modern world. Additionally, it aims to equip Ukrainian students, doctoral candidates, and staff with knowledge and skills crucial for the country's future development.
Project Goals:
- Support academic cooperation with Ukraine through the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and skills.
- Develop digital education by creating and implementing educational materials, with a focus on the latest technologies and innovations.
- Foster collaboration in priority areas such as sustainable technologies, sustainable development, and the development of smart cities.
Planned Project Activities:
- Semester scholarships for students from Ukraine.
- Participation of staff/students in events organized at Gdańsk University of Technology, such as Sustainability Week, Open Days (combined with a mini hackathon), "e-Technologies in Engineering Education" Conference, "International Promotion of the University" Conference, and "Gamification in Education" Conference.
- Organization of a summer school for students from Ukraine.
- English language course for students from Ukraine.
- Study visits involving young researchers from Ukraine.
- Participation of Ukrainian staff in a staff week dedicated to sustainable development.
- Development of modern teaching materials.
