GUT Rector again among the Academic Sports Association authorities | Gdańsk University of Technology

ASA is the largest sports association in the country that has been operating continuously for over a century. It is also the most numerous student organization at Polish universities.

The Gdańsk branch of ASA was established almost a hundred years ago. From the beginning it was associated with Gdańsk University of Technology, and since the end of World War II also with other universities in the Tri-City. Within Gdańsk ASA, there are 13 university clubs and three competition sections. Every year, ASA organizes numerous recreational events, including Bicycle Flood, in which 2 to 3 thousand participants take part, 3-4 kayaking trips and a ski camp. So far club members have gained over 2.5 thousand medals in the Polish championships and over 200 medals in international events.

Let's add that in the Polish Academic Championships the 2018/19 season was the sixth in a row in which Gdańsk University of Technology finished the competition on the podium. Our university took third place in the general classification and became the second best technical university for the seventh time in a row [you can also read: Gdańsk University of Technology once again on the podium of the Polish Academic Championships]. The PAC 2019/2020 have been suspended in the spring due to the pandemic and will take place in August-October 2020.
