Professor Krzysztof Wilde, rector of GUT becomes chairman of the Rectors' Council

During the last meeting of the current term of the Council of Rectors of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (CRPV), which took place on July 3 at the Conference and Training Center of the University of Gdańsk in Leźno, the members of the council elected prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology as chairman for the 2020-2024 term.

The honorable function of the chairman of the Rectors' Council of the Pomeranian Voivodeship was handed over to prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of GUT, by the resigning chairman of the CRPV, prof. Jerzy Gwizdała, rector of the University of Gdańsk. The vice-presidents of CRPV became: PhD, DSc Krzysztof Polkowski, prof. at the Academy of Fine Arts, rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and prof. Adam Weintrit, rector-elect of the Maritime University of Gdynia.

During the meeting, organizational issues related to the functioning of Pomeranian universities during the pandemic period, as well as plans for the next academic year were discussed. The resigning chairman prof. Jerzy Gwizdała thanked for four years of cooperation, said goodbye to outgoing rectors and welcomed rectors-elects.

The Rectors' Council of the Pomeranian Voivodeship is made up of representatives of thirteen universities in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Its purpose is to integrate the scientific community, as well as to take actions for the development of higher education and the academic community of the region. As part of CRPV, universities exchange information, agree a common position and undertake joint activities.
