GUT rector is a vice-chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities

Professor Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, was elected vice-president of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities (KRPTU) for the 2020-2024 term. The vote took place on 28 August during a remote general meeting and elections.

The chairman of KRPTU in the new term of office will be prof. Teofil Jesionowski, rector of the Poznań University of Technology. Prof. Jerzy Lis, rector-elect of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and prof. PhD, DSc, Eng. Krzysztof Jóźwik, rector-elect of the Lodz University of Technology were elected vice-chairmen of KRPTU.

KRPTU is a voluntary association of rectors representing Polish technical universities. According to the regulations, the KRPTU chairman and his three deputies are elected by the KRPTU Electoral Assembly, composed of the rectors-elects of member universities elected for the new term, in a secret ballot, by an absolute majority of validly cast votes, in the presence of more than half of those eligible to vote.

KRPTU has been operating since 1989. The conference originally operated under the name of the Autonomous Conference of Rectors of Higher Technical Schools, and then under the present name since 1996. KRPTU, as one of the conferences of a specific type of higher education institutions, is a member of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Academic Schools (CRPAS), the chairman of KRPTU is a member of the CRPAS presidium.
