– We plan to utilize our full potential and use this amazing opportunity in an absolutely unprecedented way, both on a Polish and European scale. This initiative will put us on the fast track – said Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, rector of the University of Gdańsk, upon opening the event. – In this initiative, the universities are like centers that not only provide technical support for the project, but also constitute an element of innovation. Cooperation with InnHUB Gdańsk is certainly a great challenge, but also a chance to go beyond the established framework of the university – added the professor.

The main task of the Erasmus+ InnHUB Gdańsk innovation center will be the development of innovation in northern Poland. The center will support entrepreneurs, companies and educational institutions in submitting applications for funding from the Erasmus+ program. The center will also offer new training courses as well as events related to the improvement of professional competencies. Cooperation with 12 Pomeranian universities is to provide an appropriate technical basis for these activities.

– On behalf of the Council of Rectors of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, which is my honor and pleasure to represent, I would like to express great satisfaction of the authorities of Pomeranian universities resulting from launching Erasmus+ InnHub in Gdańsk, and also to congratulate the University of Gdańsk and the rector, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, for successful realization of this noble initiative - said Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, the rector of Gdańsk Tech and chairman of RRWP. - Gdańsk and Pomerania create an ecosystem that supports innovation, creativity and cooperation between science and the socioeconomic environment. Establishing the center is another step in increasing the competitiveness of our local industry and I am glad that we are doing it together, because "together we can do more!".

The new center will be located in the Library of the University of Gdańsk on ul. Wita Stwosza 53. From 8th September 2022, there will be an information point open to everyone interested in the program, as well as proposals of workshops, training sessions and programs, aimed at cooperation between students and universities, as well as business and industry with science.
