To do so, several formal conditions must be met, and above all – you need to have an interesting project idea. Over the years, many initiatives have been carried out that have made the Gdańsk Tech campus an even more friendly place for work and study.
A new feature of the previous, 7th edition of BOPG was an even greater focus by the university on green, environmentally friendly projects. Among the projects selected by the academic community were installations of a 25 kWp solar power plant on the roof of the building at Sobieskiego 7 Street and containers for selective waste collection.
Another example of a green project can be planting fruit trees or creating a flower meadow. The first idea was implemented near Building B of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. Among the trees planted last autumn were two types of apple trees, a cherry tree, and a pear tree. Meanwhile, a flower meadow with an area of 83 square meters was created next to Building C of the Faculty of Chemistry.
Additionally, thanks to the Participatory Budget in recent years, selected campus buildings have been equipped with relaxation zones, coworking spaces for students, areas with drinking water dispensers, and even queue management systems for dean’s offices. Meanwhile, the Academic Sports Center has gained changing rooms by the football field and a sauna.
All projects selected in previous editions of the Gdańsk Tech Participatory Budget are available on the Participatory Budget Implementation Map.
Ideas for the currently ongoing edition can still be submitted for one more week – until November 6. Subsequently, the submitted projects will undergo verification. Those that pass successfully will participate in the voting, scheduled from November 27 to December 11. The final list of projects selected for implementation will be announced on January 3, 2024.
