Research Impact Leader Award for Gdańsk University of Technology in two categories

Once again, the publishing house Elsevier Polska awarded Research Impact Leader Awards to universities that recorded the greatest increase in the last two years in the number of publications in the discipline, the share of foreign scientists in publications and citations. This distinction promotes international cooperation, prestigious publications and influence in the field of science development.

Gdańsk University of Technology won in two categories:

  • Engineering and Technology
  • Life Sciences / Agricultural Sciences

The university was also nominated in the Social Sciences category and for a special award - European university alliances.

The awards were presented on 20 November, during the KRASP Assembly in Zabrze. Awards were given in six categories and a special award was presented. Awards were also received by: Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw and the Silesian University of Technology.

The Research Impact Leaders Award, first awarded in 2016, is part of Elsevier's global initiative to support research and development in many disciplines. The awards recognize outstanding research institutions that have the greatest impact on scientific research and contribute to the better recognition of Polish science in the world.

Elsevier has launched a project aimed at improving the visibility of the scientific achievements of Polish universities in the world. These activities include cooperation with leading scientific institutions that want to increase their chances of receiving grants, ensure better recognition in the world and increase the level of internationalization.
