Gdańsk Tech Publishing House tasks

Among the main tasks of the Gdańsk Tech Publishing House there are:

in the field of publishing activities:
  • developing publishing plans – title and financial – scientific publications (habilitation, monographs) and didactic (textbooks, scripts);
  • cooperation with deans submitting items previously approved by Faculty Councils or program committees to be published in print or placed in the Pomeranian Digital Library;
  • cooperation with the Editorial Committee of GUT Publishing House in terms of evaluation of publishing plans and submitted materials, qualification for publication, selection of reviewers, etc.;
  • referring to reviews;
  • concluding contracts, billing for work done, accounting for publications;
  • editorial preparation of materials for printing, participation in creating the graphic design, post-author's proofreading;
  • print ordering and supervision;
  • settlements with departments and bursaries - issuing debit notes, transfer of profits;
  • keeping full records of publishing activities;
  • preparation of material and financial reports on the work carried out;
  • promotion of publications;
  • formatting with graphic design of university publications;
  • design of covers;
  • control of the correctness of the technical preparation of materials submitted for printing;
in the field of handling printing orders:
  • conducting tenders for printing services in accordance with the procedures resulting from the Public Procurement Law;
  • provision of printing services for the entire university – books, conference materials, posters, posters, advertising materials, "small printing" etc.;
  • preparation of plans for the above-mentioned services based on reported needs;
  • sending orders to printing houses selected by tender;
  • collection of finished products from the printing house, control of their quantity and quality;
  • keeping records of orders for services related to printing and control of their use in terms of compliance with the needs reported by organizational units of universities;
in the remaining scope:
  • running and servicing the magazine of PG publications;
  • preparing monthly reports on revenues and expenditures in the magazine of the publishing houses;
  • distribution of publications;
  • issuing invoices and notes for ordered books.
