Culture as a Bridge: From Multiculturalism to Interculturality – another meeting in the “Open Up, Dare To!” series

people standing in the line
Interculturality is an increasingly present phenomenon in the modern world. It refers to the meeting and coexistence of different cultures, languages, traditions, and value systems. It requires openness, empathy, and a willingness to engage in dialogue, as cultural differences can be both a source of enrichment and misunderstanding.

Through interculturality, we gain the ability to see the world from multiple perspectives. This fosters both personal and social development, helps break stereotypes, builds mutual respect, and enhances our understanding of others. Intercultural competences are becoming essential today, especially in diverse working environments.

Interculturality does not mean giving up one’s identity, but rather combining diversity in a harmonious and creative way.

On March 26 this year, another edition of the Young Researchers Forum titled 'Publication Pathways: Choosing the Right Journal for Your Research' took place in the Main Building of Gdańsk University of Technology. The event gathered a large group of early-career researchers interested in developing their skills in publishing scientific results.

The meeting focused on one of the key stages of academic work - selecting an appropriate journal for publication. During the Forum, participants had the opportunity to learn about issues related to analyzing journal metrics such as the impact factor, quartiles, and ministerial scoring, as well as the peer-review process and article acceptance rates.
