ENHANCE kick off meeting
On 22-23 February, over 130 representatives from ten partner universities of ENHANCE Alliance met in Berlin to officially launch ENHANCE+ project. As far as internationalization is concerned, this project is a priority undertaking for Gdańsk University of Technology.

Let’s recall: in November 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology became a member of the ENHANCE Alliance – a consortium of technical universities from Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and Poland.  In July 2023, the ENHANCE Alliance received 14,4 million euro from the European funds to run ENHANCE+ project scheduled for the years 2023-2027. The resources were allocated as part of the European Universities call, organized by the European Commission.

Doctoral School at Gdańsk Tech has become a member of PRIDE Network and EUA-CDE

Doctoral School has become a member of two well-known international networks linking doctoral schools: PRIDE Network and EUA (European University Association) – CDE (Council for Doctoral Education)
PRIDE Network – Association for Professionals in Doctoral Education 

The association was founded in 2017 and at the time of publishing this entry has 34 organizational members and 16 individual members from 20 different countries, with our Doctoral School becoming the organization's first member from Poland.

Open Education Week 2024

Open week
Every year in the first week of March, Open Education Week is celebrated around the world, this year's edition will take place on March 4-8, 2024. The aim of the week is to raise awareness, present initiatives and celebrate the impact of open education on teaching and learning. During Open Education Week, online and local events are organized, such as workshops, webinars, discussions and debates.

This year, Gdańsk Tech University librarians invite everyone, including students and academic teachers, to two short training sessions devoted to open educational resources.

The first training, on March 5, will be dedicated to free academic textbooks that can be found on the Internet, legally downloaded and used during classes at the university. The second one will take place on March 7 and present platforms with online courses designed by leading world universities, which will certainly help you acquire knowledge and consolidate acquired skills.

Dear PhD Students

We would like to inform you that on 2 February 2024, Decree of the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology No. 9/2024 on: Regulations for bonuses for scientific publications and patents at gdansk university of technology in 2024 (in Polish only) was issued.

The decree takes effect on March 1, 2024.

Open academic textbooks at your fingertips

Webinar organised by the Gdańsk Tech Library as part of Open Education Week, will be dedicated to free academic textbooks that can be found on the Internet, legally downloaded and used during classes at the university.

The training will be online via the MS Teams platform and on-site in the library’s multimedia room in the main building of Gdańsk Tech University. To participate in the meeting, simply click the link or come to the multimedia room. The training will be conducted in English at 1130. It will take approximately 20 minutes.

Launch of the prestigious Horizon Europe PLAN-B research grant

Gdańsk University of Technology has become an international Consortium partner in a new EU-HORIZON funded project called PLAN-B (The Path towards addressing adverse impacts of Light and Noise pollution on terrestrial Biodiversity and ecosystems).

This four-year multidisciplinary research, coordinated by the University of Ghent, launched in January 2024.
