From Silicon Valley to strengthen research in the field of One Health

As part of implementing its Research University strategy, the Gdańsk University of Technology has acquired another world-class expert. Under the IDUB Nobelium program, Rafał Urniaż, PhD, has joined the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The experience he has gained in the USA and the UK, among other places, will contribute to the development of the interdisciplinary One Health movement, combining engineering, medicine and ecology.

The Nobelium Joining Gdańsk Tech Research Community program is one of the pillars of the IDUB initiative, which aims to attract outstanding researchers with recognised achievements to the university. This time, it is Rafał Urniaż, PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, who has joined the ranks of Gdańsk Tech, bringing unique international experience to Prof. Aneta Łuczkiewicz's team.

The Gdańsk Tech Language Centre invites candidates planning to pursue bachelor’s or master’s studies at our university to join our intensive language courses.

The program includes:

Gdańsk Tech included in THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026

For another year in a row, the Gdańsk University of Technology has been ranked in five areas of THE World University Rankings by Subject. The university maintained its previous positions in four fields, while in Physical Sciences it moved up from the 801–1000 band to 601–800th.

Economics, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences rankings, and 801-1000th in the Computer Science ranking.

Compared to other Polish universities, Gdańsk Tech ranked as follows:

STEM Webinars – Female STEM Stories Unfold | Next Session: 3 March 2026

Webinar series organized by RWTH Aachen as part of the ENHANCE University Alliance. The initiative has a training-focused character and concentrates on gender and diversity in STEM.

The webinars are led by STEM Ambassadors – female students and researchers who share their experiences in fields such as engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, bioinformatics, and sustainable design.

[3rd and 4th year PhD students] Information meeting on the completion of PhD training

On March 2 (Monday), from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, there will be a meeting between the School Authorities and PhD students of the 3rd and 4th year. The meeting will be held online.

Important: Attendance of PhD students of the 4th year is mandatory.
