Call for proposals under Individual Research (20.09-22.10.2021) and under RADIUM (20.09-19.11.2021)

Individual Research Studies, hereinafter referred to as ISB, make it possible to create individual educational paths for the most talented second degree students in connection with their research as part of research projects.

The RADIUM Program makes it possible to obtain a university grant to finance the costs of research conducted by second degree students as part of Individual Research Studies. 
ISB and RADIUM constitute an element of IDUB's tasks aimed at increasing the quality of education of students and doctoral students, especially in faculties and scientific disciplines related to priority research areas of the university, Measure III.1 (Modification of the education system at the first and second degree studies). 

The next edition of ISB and the RADIUM program is planned from the summer semester of the academic year 2021/2022.

Eligibility criteria

The Evaluation Committee considers the following criteria when evaluating ISB applications:
a) accomplishments demonstrating past involvement in scholarly activities, e.g., publications, participation/references at conferences, participation in scholarly projects, active, activities in academic clubs,
d) grade for diploma thesis/diploma project,
e) average grade from first degree studies,
f) recommendations/letters of recommendation,
g) motivation letter,
h) an interview.

Budget and funding conditions  
The maximum amount of funding for the research project is 24 000 PLN gross and the duration of the project is no longer than 10 months.
In order to participate in the RADIUM Program, the Applicant must obtain the prior consent of the Vice-Rector for Education for the realization of the ISB, according to the Regulations of Individual Research Studies.

What cost categories can be planned in the project?
Grants awarded as a result of the competition may fund:

  • costs for the purchase of small laboratory equipment, materials necessary for research, non-perishable materials including reagents, 
  • costs of computer equipment and software necessary for the research,
  • external services necessary for the conduct of the research,
  • costs related to the dissemination of research, including in particular travel and subsistence costs, publication fees, costs of participation in conferences.

How to apply?

The ISB application is submitted electronically at isb@pg.edu.pl between September 20 and October 22, 2021 at 11:59 pm. 

  • Applications should be sent from your student account (@student.pg.edu.pl). The original application should be submitted to the Vice Chancellor for Education.

The RADIUM call for applications will run from September 20 to November 19, 2021, 11:59 p.m.

  • Applications should be submitted electronically at radium@pg.edu.pl. 

Submitted applications are subject to evaluation by an Evaluation Committee appointed by the Rector. The final decision to award the grant will be made by the Rector.
