8 startup teams and 2 hours of project presentations in the form of pitching in front of the audience gathered in Auditorium Novum of Gdańsk Tech - the finale of the third edition of the Startup School PG program "Test your idea" called Demo Day Startup School One vol. 3 is behind us.

The event took place on June 15, 2023 at Gdańsk University of Technology and was streamed online, for those who registered. Startup teams that completed the third edition of the Startup School One program were given five minutes on stage to present the project they had been working on for the past three months during the training cycle. Each team then answered questions from the audience.

- The main goal of the Startup School One program called "Test Your Idea" is to test the business potential of ideas submitted by startup teams. An observation worth noting is the consistency of the evaluations of the trainers running the program and the evaluations of the audience attending the Demo Day with regard to the ideas with the greatest potential," concluded Robert Bajko, project manager of Startup School.

Development of business competencies of startup teams

During the 3rd edition of the Startup School One program, cooperation was established with the Interim Management Development Foundation. Thanks to it, Startup School teams were able to benefit from business mentors who represent various industries and have extensive managerial experience. In the autumn edition of the training program, business mentors will also accompany the teams, offering their advice and knowledge, thus enriching the content value of the basic training blocks.

New elements during Demo Day

The third edition of the summary of the Startup School training cycle was led for the first time by graduates of the previous edition of the program - the EduBoost team, namely Kamil Szefler and Oskar Gutowski. The duo motivated from the stage the next presenting teams and introduced the audience to the topics of the speeches, bringing very positive energy to the event. At the very end of the event, the EduBoost team presented the current status of their project, a few months ahead of the Stage Two international startup competition, where they will represent Gdansk University of Technology in October 2023 in Berlin.

The event was also uniquely kicked off with an inspirational presentation by Gdańsk Tech W2H2 spin-off company CEO Wojciech Białecki. The company's product is a waste pyrolysis reactor, which in recent months was awarded the title of Polish Product of the Future, while the company received the distinction of "Eagle of Innovation" in a poll by the Rzeczpospolita daily.
