Gdańsk University of Technology is a signatory of "Race to Zero"

Race to Zero
Gdańsk University of Technology is one of four Polish universities that have joined the global "Race to Zero" campaign supported by the United Nations.

"Race to Zero" is a global campaign that unites enterprises, educational institutes, including universities, cities and regions around a common goal which is planning and implementing activities leading to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The participation of Gdańsk Tech in the "Race to Zero" campaign is a confirmation of the
commitment of the University, included in the Climate Plan of Gdańsk Univeristy of Technology, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by half by 2030 and achieve zero net emissions by 2040.
It is a very demanding challenge, with no guarantee of success.

The areas in which the University of Technology takes action under the Climate Plan for 2022-2030 are sustainable consumption of natural resources and energy, sustainable commute and travel, responsabile production and consumption, community engagement and sustainable management of Gdańsk Tech campus.

The next step on the path to the climate neutrality of Gdańsk Tech, is the carbon footprint calculation of university’s activity. We are obliged to publish an action plan on Sustainable Development website within a year of joining the "Race to Zero" campaign.
