GUT Architect is a laureate of the competition for a diploma thesis on housing issues

PhD thesis of PhD, Eng., Arch. Weronika Mazurkiewicz from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the Faculty of Architecture was awarded in the competition for the best thesis devoted to housing issues entitled "URS - Users and Residents Space" organized by PFR Nieruchomości S.A. in partnership with the PFR Foundation and the Bęc Zmiana publishing house. Among the winners of the competition was also a GUT graduate Aleksandra Gordowy.

PhD, Eng., Arch. Weronika Mazurkiewicz received the II degree distinction for her doctoral dissertation entitled "Contemporary instruments for the formation of complex peripheral urban structures", defended at the GUT Faculty of Architecture under the scientific supervision of Professor Piotr Lorens, PhD, DSc, Eng., Arch. (supervisor), PhD, DSc. Małgorzata Dymnicka, university professor (second promoter) and PhD, ., Arch. Justyna Borucka (auxiliary promoter).

The research dealt with by PhD, Eng., Arch. Weronika Mazurkiewicz mainly concerns improving the quality of life in cities, including strategic planning affecting the quality of urban life.

- The subject of the doctorate was related to the shaping of contemporary urban structures of a comprehensive nature based on the principles contained in non-statutory planning instruments, such as e.g. master plans - says the architect.

Let us add that the first prize for the work entitled "Pleasure of boredom. The house as a productive and non-productive space in the context of a residential building in Łódź at Wschodnia Street, prepared at the Faculty of Architecture of the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, was awarded to MSc, Eng., Arch. Aleksandra Gordowy, a graduate of engineering studies at the GUT Faculty of Architecture.
