A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the GUT, she is a laureate of the national design competition "Rhythm of Light - a house in line with Bauhaus ideas" under the honorary patronage of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus school, a nationwide design competition was organized. Its participants were challenged to interpret its main principles such as functionality, simplicity and seriality in the form of a free-standing house or building complex design. The competition was aimed at selecting and promoting young talented people who will stand out for their innovative approach to designing architectural space, free from routine. The key role in the project was to play the use of natural and artificial light, as well as to present an architectural detail.
The jury consisting of well-known and respected architects, designers and lighting specialists qualified 5 works for the final of the competition. The announcement of the results and the award ceremony took place during the XXVIII International Lighting Equipment Fair LIGHT, on 6th February 2020 in Warsaw. The ceremony was accompanied by an exhibition of competition works organized on the fairgrounds.
The graduate of our faculty, MSc arch. Izabela Ślarzyńska received the Second Prize for a house based on modularity as well as the development of an urban layout forming a complex of buildings together with a landscape architecture design.
