The graduate of Architecture Department, winner of the TEAM20 Architecture and Urban Planning Competition | Gdańsk University of Technology

The 8th edition of the TEAM20 competition took place in Taiwan. The international jury, consisting of architects and urban planners, awarded an honorary mention to the work of Bahaa Bou Kalfouny, M.Sc. Eng. Arch. for his diploma entitled THE INDEPENDENT PRODUCERS. The thesis concerned the search for communication between the architecturally, socially and economically isolated slum Hay-AL Tanak from the centre of Beirut and the rest of the city. The graduate proposed spatial measures to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants through architectural solutions that have a positive impact on the environment, the relationship between people and their places of residence.

The awarded master thesis was supervised by Dorota Wojtowicz-Jankowska, Ph.D., DSc. Eng. Arch., in the Department of Environmental Design.
