Graduate of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering is one of the laureates of the 25th edition of the Siemens Award Competition
On the 29th of September 2020, the jury of the Siemens Competition for Scientists and Research Teams announced the winners of the 25th edition. Among the winners is Ph.D. Eng. Patrick Strankowski, graduate and former employee of the Department of Electric Drives and Energy Conversion at the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering.
Dr. Eng. Patrick Strankowski, on the basis of the Jury's recommendation and the decision of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, became the laureate of the 25th edition of the Siemens Nation Competition for scientists and research teams. The promotional award was granted for a doctoral dissertation written in English under the title: Sensorless Five-Phase Induction Motor Drive with Inverter Output Filter and Fault Detection Possibility, written under the supervision of D.Sc. Eng. Jarosław Guziński, university professor.
The solution proposed in the dissertation was met with great interest from the industry and was presented at international fairs, including Hannover Messe.
Currently, the laureate continues his research activities and works in the research and development department of Bosch-Siemens in Berlin.
