AWARD FOR THE BEST PRESENTATION | Gdańsk University of Technology

During the First International Conference Strategies toward Green Deal Implementation -Water and Raw Materials (ICGreenDeal2020), held on 14-16 December 2020, PhD student MEHDI SHARIF SHOURJEH  together with the team of the Department of Sanitary Engineering, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, GUT, headed by Prof. Jacek Mąkinia, received an award for the best paper delivered entitled "The green deal implementation and sustainable development strategies in WWTPs".  The aim of the Conference was to address topics related to, among others, climate change and methods of its prevention, based mainly on innovative solutions (technological, environmental, economic and social), which are already now and/or may in the future be implemented within the so-called Green Deal and Sustainable Development, covering various areas of the economy, including modern systems of water and wastewater industry, presented in the awarded paper. Despite the fact that the conference was only virtual (i.e. "online" via internet connections) due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, it still achieved the success expected by the organisers, gathering numerous scientists and experts from home and abroad!
