Launch of the new library system | Gdańsk University of Technology

It is our pleasure to inform you that the Gdańsk Tech Library has introduced the new Alma library system and the Primo’s search engine. It is a significant step towards a more effective management of library resources and providing you with even better services.

Important changes:

The library account

Your library accounts have been transferred to the new system and integrated with the Gdańsk Tech Account. From now on, logging in to the library system is done by using the Gdańsk Tech Account (Central Authentication Service of the Gdańsk Tech University).
Additionally, the library account can be used to borrow books from the libraries of the Fahrenheit Universities (the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk) – more information will appear on the Gdańsk Tech Library website soon.

Access to licensed electronic resources

6^th of February 2024, the method of authorizing access to licensed electronic resources outside of the Gdańsk Tech University network has changed. From now on, the authorization is based on the login details for the Gdańsk Tech Account (Central Authentication Service of the Gdańsk Tech University).

Modern interface

The Primo’s search engine provides a modern interface which facilitates access to various information resources, including the catalogue of printed collections of the Gdańsk Tech Library and other libraries in the Tricity and Poland, licensed electronic resources (databases, e-journals, e-books and articles), Open Access electronic resources and digitalized historical collections of the Pomeranian Digital Library.
For more practical information about searching, requesting and sharing library collections, check the instructional materials which will appear on the Gdańsk Tech Library website soon.

Due to ongoing preparations for the launch of the new library system, operations such as borrowing, returning, renewing, requesting and picking up books as well as signing sign-off sheets (karta obiegowa) will not be possible between the 1^st and the 12^th of February 2024.
Return dates between the 1^st and the 12^th of February 2024 have been moved to the 19^th of February 2024.
