Gdańsk Tech Library in the new academic year | Gdańsk University of Technology

As a new academic year begins in October, the Gdańsk Tech Library would like to warmly welcome all readers, especially students starting their first year of study at Gdańsk University of Technology.

We have prepared an online course for all newly arrived first-year full-time and part-time students, where you will learn to search and access the Gdańsk Tech Library’s resources and how to use the online catalogue. The training is obligatory and must be completed by 31 January 2025, and is available on the e-learning platform (eNauczanie):

We encourage you to take advantage of the diverse range of services on offer and the modernised library spaces:

• from 01.10.2024, the Main Library and all branches will be open until 19⁰⁰ hours with detailed opening hours;
• electronic books, journals and databases can be used 24 hours a day - just log in to your Gdańsk Tech account and use the online catalogue or the e-resources tab;
• as of February this year, it is possible to use the collections of the libraries of the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk using a Gdańsk Tech Library account (see: Instructions for activating a FarU account);
• information on how to use the collections and instructional videos are available on the website.

You are also welcome to use the friendly, comfortable interiors enriched with modern solutions:

• acoustic cabins equipped with adjustable LED lighting and ventilation activated by a presence sensor (reservations possible for Gdańsk Tech employees):
  • Hall - 4 acoustic cabins for quiet learning (2 cabins for 1-person, 1 cabin for 2-person and 1 for up to 4 people),
  • Main Reading Room - 3 acoustic cabins for quiet learning (each cabin for up to 4 people);
• mobile creative wall equipped with a dry-wipe board and upholstered panel with the possibility to hang a TV (Hall);
• 2 acoustic lounge chairs equipped with a sliding front panel mechanism which allows the user to detach from the environment, the chairs also have a USB charger (Main Reading Room);
• seminar rooms for study and work in groups (Faculty of Chemistry and Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics Branch Library, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics Branch Library).
