Mechanical section | Gdańsk University of Technology

The mechanical section, consisting of employees in the hydraulic, heating, mechanical, locksmith, glass, ventilation and air conditioning and firefighting industries, carries out tasks including in particular:

• operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of district heating, central heating and heating installations,
• operation, maintenance and removal of malfunctioning of sewage, rain and sanitary installations and systems in the whole area,
• operation, maintenance, repair and removal of network and water supply failures including hydrants and firefighting networks,
• operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network and gas installations throughout the area,
• periodic reviews of gas, district heating, water supply, hydrant, ventilation, gravity and mechanical installations, removal of faults identified during fault inspections,
• operation, maintenance, repair and removal of malfunctions of firefighting equipment,
• operation, maintenance and repair of any failures of crane equipment,
• operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ventilation / air-conditioning equipment in all GUT buildings,
• glazing windows with both its own forces and by outsourcing to service points,
• maintenance and repair of locks, keys making, maintenance and operation of door locks,
• settling of projects in terms of district heating, plumbing, gas, and mechanical equipment requirements, e.g. cranes; participation in commissioning of both new and refurbished buildings,
• reading water meter readings and heat meters, heating and hydraulic emergency services, cooperation with SAUR-NEPTUN Water Supply and Sewerage Company and Gdansk Thermal Power Company / GPEC / ERO,
• specification of technical conditions for newly designed buildings and external networks in the GUT area for water supply, sanitary and sewerage networks,
• settling of projects involving both buildings and external networks,
• supervision of the performance of gas and ventilation inspections required by Construction Law, in all buildings in the GUT area,
• purchasing the necessary materials to remove the malfunctions
