Professor Joanna Krakowiak from the Department of Physical Chemistry, GUT Faculty of Chemistry, was invited to act as editor of the special edition of the ‘Molecules’ journal, which will be entirely devoted to flow batteries. It is a recognized open access scientific journal devoted to issues in the field of chemistry and materials science.

The special issue will also be edited by guests: PhD Petr Mazur from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague and PhD Peter Fisher from the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT in Pfinztal. Details on the special issue and the scope of matters that will be included in it are available on the journal's website.

 – Being a special editor is a great honour for me and for our university. This creates an excellent opportunity to meet other researchers in the field of flow batteries, in particular in the context of my plans to create an international research team under the Aurum program implemented in the IERU project – comments Professor Joanna Krakowiak.

Professor Joanna Krakowiak invites contact from people interested in publishing their articles; the call for texts is open until 31 January 2021.

Professor Krakowiak is currently carrying out research on the original design of a flow cell battery, as well as on new types of electrolytes for use in this type of batteries. Both projects are implemented with the participation of financing from the Innovation Incubator 2.0 program, conducted at Gdańsk University of Technology by the Center for Knowledge and Technology Transfer.
