Golden lions
On Saturday, 5 November, another edition of the Golden Lions 2022 Student Activity Plebiscite took place. For the seventh time, Gdańsk Tech SSG awarded the most active students, research clubs and organizations operating at Gdańsk University of Technology.

This year, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Gdańsk Tech Students’ Parliament, after a longer break (including the pandemic one), the awards gala returned to the Gdańsk Tech Academic Club ‘Kwadratowa’. The most important goal of the plebiscite is to promote student activity at our university. The prizes were awarded in the following categories: personality, research project, integration project, sport, student development project, student organization, student researcher, best FSC.

Any member of the Gdańsk Tech academic community may submit their candidate for the competition, and students of all faculties take part in the vote. The final decision is made by the Competition Jury, which selects the best nominations in each category, awarding the Golden Lions prize.

The Golden Lions gala is also a unique occasion, during which the Student Self-Government gives thanks to the University of Technology employees from various departments, who help in their daily work and the development of the Self-Government. The gala is attended by representatives of university authorities, faculties, managers, directors and representatives of centers and departments of Gdańsk University of Technology, student activists associated in the Self-Government, organizations and scientific circles, and - of course - the nominees themselves.

– Golden Lions is a unique event, the student Oscars of our University of Technology - comments Jakub Persjanow, chairman of the Gdańsk Tech SSG. – As Gdańsk Tech SSG, we want to show our entire academic community the wonderful projects, initiatives and events organized by students in their free time - acting independently or by associating in circles and organizations. All nominees can be incredibly proud of themselves, and we congratulate all the winners and wish them further development and commitment! - he adds.
