Gdańsk University of Technology in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023

Gdańsk University of Technology was ranked 4th among Polish universities in the "Engineering & Technology" group of subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023.

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023, universities are classified into groups of subjects (the so-called Broad Subjects) and detailed subjects (the so-called narrow subjects). Gdańsk University of Technology was classified in the "Engineering & Technology" group of subjects, where it received a total of 63.1 points, which allowed it to take 391th place on a global scale. It is the 4th position in this category among Polish universities, after  the Warsaw University of Technology, Wrocław University of Technology and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. Compared to 2022, the University of Technology improved its result, entering the fourth hundred of world universities in this area of subjects. Gdańsk Tech ranked particularly high in the "Citations per Paper" criterion, where it obtained 74.6 points, which gave it the best place among Polish technical universities.

In terms of individual subjects, the University of Technology achieved the best results in the subjects "Architecture / Built Environment" (range 201-240) and "Engineering - Electrical & Electronic" (range 251-300). In both cases, this made it possible to obtain the second place among universities in Poland, right after the Warsaw University of Technology.

Gdańsk University of Technology was also classified again in the subjects "Engineering - Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing" (range 301-350) and "Chemistry" (range 401-450), while in the subjects "Computer Science & Information Systems" (range 601-650), "Materials Science (range 350-400) and "Physics & Astronomy" (range 601-620) it was classified for the first time.

On a global scale, the winners in the "Engineering & Technology" subject area were the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University and the University of Cambridge.
