Gdańsk Tech for residents. Concert of the Gdańsk Tech Academic Choir

Professor Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, invites the entire community of Gdańsk University of Technology and the inhabitants of Gdańsk and the surrounding area to a unique Lent concert, which will take place on 25 February in the Oliwa Cathedral.

The concert is one of the events as part of the 120th anniversary of Gdańsk University of Technology celebrated this year. The academic choir of Gdańsk University of Technology under the baton of prof. Mariusz Mróz will perform during the concert.

– I cordially invite the entire academic community of our university to participate in the concert – says prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Gdańsk Tech rector. – The Oliwa Cathedral is one of the most beautiful religious buildings in Poland and I am convinced that thanks to the combination of this unique scenery with the skills of the Academic Choir of Gdańsk University of Technology, it will be an unforgettable evening for all of us.

The program includes famous Lent songs in Polish, English and Latin. The choir will perform twelve pieces:

  • Beatus Vir – Łukasz Urbaniak,
  • De Profundis – Marcin Łukaszewski,
  • Eli, Eli – Gyorgy Deak-Bardos,
  • Anthem II – Alfred Schnittke,
  • Lacrymosa – Calixto Alvarez,
  • O Salutaris Hostia – Vytautas Miškinis,
  • Peace I leave with you – Knut Nystedt,
  • Popule Meus – Lajos Bardos,
  • Salve Mater Misericordiae – Tim Sarsany,
  • Stetit Angelus – Richards Dubra,
  • The Conversion of Saul – Zane Randall Stroope,
  • The Mystery of Faith – Szymon Godziemba-Trytek

The concert will take place on Sunday, 25  February at the Oliwa Cathedral at 7 p.m. Free admission.
